Our Publications

If you visit our main museum, the Boise Basin Museum, at the corner of Montgomery and Wall Streets, you will have an opportunity to purchase one of two publications that we offer for sale.  

Basin of Gold, Life in Boise Basin, 1862-1890, Arthur A. Hart (1986). Eighty-six pages with illustrations and photographs. This book captures what life was like in the Basin after gold was discovered on Grimes Creek in 1862. A colorful and charming collection of historical information.

Bricks & Boardwalks, A Walking-Tour Guide to Historic Idaho CityThe Idaho City Historical Foundation (3rd ed. 1995). Fifteen pages with illustrations and photographs. This guide is for those who wish to explore Idaho City's streets and byways. Not only are the Foundation's properties discussed, but also other famous historical places such as the Masonic Temple, the Pioneer Cemetary, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Our museum is currently closed for the season. We will reopen for weekends in May. Have a great winter.
