We are a 501 (c) 3 non profit all volunteer organization dedicated to restoring, preserving and interpreting the history of the Boise Basin. Incorporated on September 4, 1958, the first major accomplishment of the Foundation was the restoration of the old Post Office at the corner of Montgomery and Wall into the Boise Basin Museum. This was soon followed by creating the park behind the museum. Over time the block of historic buildings and displays adjacent to the museum were restored or built. And on and on.
The Foundation now has under its care the:
Boise Basin Museum
Brogan and Naylor Parks
Territorial Prison
Smokejumpers Park
Pon Yam House and
Strauss House/Kenn Smith Gardens
We also oversee the Pioneer portion of the Idaho City Cemetery
and the Veterans Park.
It is a big, fun and fulfilling job. That is why we are especially happy to find new volunteers who share our commitment to doing good in the Boise Basin. Do you want to support us by helping with our work? Then do not hesitate to contact us. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!
